Beard Oil for Growth
Conditions the hair you have and the skin under it, which is worth doing. It cannot create follicles — beard density is genetic and androgen-driven.

Verdict — cope
The mechanism does not hold. Your time is better spent elsewhere.
Evidence grade D
Nobody has demonstrated this works. Note that this grades the evidence, not the danger — read the verdict for that.
Mechanism
Carrier oils and fragrance soften the shaft and reduce underlying flaking. Nothing in a cosmetic oil influences androgen receptor sensitivity in facial follicles, which is what determines terminal hair density.

The full read
Beard oil is a good grooming product mis-sold as a growth product. Softer, less wiry hair over a non-flaking chin genuinely improves how a beard reads, and that is the whole honest claim. Patchiness is a function of follicle distribution and androgen sensitivity, both fixed. The products that have evidence are `beard-minoxidil` (real, slow, requires maintenance) and `dermarolling-beard` as an adjunct. Buy the oil because your beard is itchy, not because it is patchy.
