A 16-week placebo-controlled trial (3% minoxidil, n=48) showed significantly increased beard hair counts. Unlike scalp use, some beard gains appear to persist after discontinuation once hairs terminalize, though data is limited. Expect 6+ months, dryness, and initial shedding. Off-label but mechanistically sound.
