Ice Baths / Cold Face Dunks

Short-lived vasoconstriction tightens the look for an hour; the discipline benefits are real but indirect.

Also called: ice bath · cold plunge · cold face dunk · cryotherapy

Verdict — mixed

Real in part — the claim outruns what it actually does.

C

Evidence grade C

Mechanistic plausibility, small studies, or observational data. Suggestive, not established.

Mechanism

Cold-induced vasoconstriction temporarily reduces superficial facial edema and redness.

The full read

A cold face dunk before photos is a legitimate 30–60 minute de-puff. Claims of 'training' facial skin or long-term tightening have no support. If cold exposure helps your sleep/discipline stack, those second-order effects matter more than the direct one.
