Gua Sha / Facial Massage
Real but temporary de-puffing via lymphatic drainage; zero structural change.
Also called: gua sha · face scraping · facial massage tool
Verdict — mixed
Real in part — the claim outruns what it actually does.
Evidence grade C
Mechanistic plausibility, small studies, or observational data. Suggestive, not established.
Mechanism
Mechanical stimulation transiently increases superficial lymph and blood flow, reducing morning facial fluid retention for a few hours.

The full read
If you wake up puffy, five minutes of gua sha genuinely sharpens your look for the morning — photos before a date, fine. The effect is hydrostatic, not structural: no fascia 'remodeling', no jawline 'sculpting' that survives the day. Cheap, pleasant, harmless — just price it as a styling tool, not an investment.
