Photoaging accounts for the large majority of visible facial aging. A 4.5-year RCT showed daily sunscreen users had no detectable increase in skin aging versus discretionary users. It also prevents the blotchy pigmentation that lowers perceived skin evenness — one of the strongest predictors of attractiveness ratings. Every other skincare intervention is second-order compared to this.
