Ice Rolling / Cold Face Tools
Vasoconstriction does genuinely reduce morning puffiness for an hour or two. That is the entire effect — there is no collagen or pore story.
Also called: ice roller · cryo roller · cold face tool
Verdict — mixed
Real in part — the claim outruns what it actually does.
Evidence grade C
Mechanistic plausibility, small studies, or observational data. Suggestive, not established.
Mechanism
Cold causes cutaneous vasoconstriction and reduces interstitial fluid volume temporarily; rewarming reverses it completely.

Worth keeping in proportion rather than dismissing: periorbital oedema on waking is a real thing, cold reduces it, and for a photo or a scan that is a useful hour. What it does not do is anything lasting — pores do not close, collagen does not respond to surface cooling, and lymphatic drainage claims outrun the evidence badly. Do not apply ice directly to skin for long; cold injury on thin periorbital skin is easy. Roughly equivalent to a cold spoon, which is the version that costs nothing.
