Injectables
Jawline Filler
Genuinely sharpens a weak mandibular border in the right candidate — and is the commonest route to the over-filled, widened lower face that reads as obviously done.
Also called: jawline hyaluronic · jaw contour filler · chin jaw filler
Verdict — mixed
Real in part — the claim outruns what it actually does.
Evidence grade B
At least one good randomised trial, or consistent findings across controlled studies.
Mechanism
High-G′ hyaluronic acid placed on periosteum at the gonial angle and along the mandibular border projects the contour outward, mimicking skeletal support.

For mild skeletal deficiency with good skin quality and low body fat, this works and reverses if you dislike it — which is its real advantage over an implant. The pitfalls are volume creep and candidate selection. Filler does not fix submental fat or lax skin; injected into a heavy lower face it adds weight rather than definition, and the widening from repeated high-volume sessions is what people recognise as 'filler face'. Expect 10–18 months, and note that hyaluronic acid is hygroscopic, so the settled result is slightly larger than day one. For a genuinely deficient mandible, a consultation about `jaw-implants` or `genioplasty` is the honest comparison.
