Skincare
Caveman Regimen (No Water, No Products)
Built on a made-up mechanism ('the skin rebalances'). The characteristic result is a keratin build-up its own followers call the 'skin mask'.

Verdict — cope
The mechanism does not hold. Your time is better spent elsewhere.
Evidence grade D
Nobody has demonstrated this works. Note that this grades the evidence, not the danger — read the verdict for that.
Mechanism
Claims that cleansing disrupts an autonomous barrier that will self-regulate if left alone. Desquamation genuinely is self-regulating; it is not, however, adequate to remove sebum oxidised onto the surface or occlusive cosmetic residue.

The premise contains one true thing — over-cleansing and over-exfoliating do damage barriers, and a lot of people's routines are too aggressive. The conclusion does not follow. Weeks of no cleansing produce visible accumulation of corneocytes and oxidised sebum that adherents describe as a peeling mask, and in acne-prone skin the reliable outcome is more comedones, not fewer. The intervention that captures the real insight without the theatre: one gentle cleanser at night, nothing in the morning but water, and fewer actives.
